My Covid Positive Journey – Really Tio liao!

We are actually quite chillax on the covid in Singapore. We do follow the restrictions but we are not those sibei paranoid kind. Those 2 years stay at home, then never go shopping center.

No gathering kind.

We even booked a cruise trip to nowhere recently too.

And to cut the story short, I kena covid, then my whole family kena also.

Read on for the sibei long story.

So...

Our plan was supposed to take the booster shot after CNY. And I booked on it a Tuesday so that weekend I should be cleared by then.

That day I was supposed to take Moderna, however I totally forgotten about it and since I am nearby a community center that have Pfizer; I think just shun bian go ahead lah.

I googled that you can walk in to any center for a booster and no booking is required.

And it is true! No booking when I walked in.

The booster shot was fast and the wait … Oh no.

There is no wait at all. There was not a crowd or queue at all. Just a few person in front of me.

The vaccination is very fast and previously we had to rest 30mins prior to leaving the center. Now is just 15 mins.

So everything is as per the reference. Sore arm, fatigue and aching.

Till Day 4 (Friday) I started to have sore throat with fever. I tested with the ART kit, but it is negative.

Positive Day 1 (Saturday)

I tested myself again.

Ho seh! Positive!

So we read the covid guideline. You can either visit the clinic or go to the ART Test center to get register.

So that evening 9pm, I went to a nearby clinic. TMD, 9pm. There is at least 20 people crowding at the clinic. So what the news say is true. 

Healthcare is overwhelmed.

I head home, and decided to see doctor first thing in the morning.

While all these, I prepared for isolation as well. 

When Mummy heard about my positive, she was negative. Haha..

Means she was like, panicky, then how then how?

But as Sushi was just 1.5 years old. We gotta isolate myself first.

We quickly tested the rest of the family and they were all negative.

Covid Positive Day 2 (Sunday)

I went to the clinic to get medication and get myself registered. As I was pretty early. I was probably 5th in the queue. 

The consultation was very fast, some questions and an ART swab. Was told to wait for medication.

Within 15mins, my results came out and I was told to isolate at home which I already did. 

So first is the SMS that says my result is positive and need to submit my tracetogether code.

Then came another SMS to update my close contact details.

While I was processing all these, my wife received a SMS that she is on HRN. So actually the process really very straight forward. 

And now, you do not need to submit your HRN ART results. Just monitor yourself can liao. Can imagine is 20k cases of covid positive and household multiply by 4. 80k of HRN to submit to MOH. 

The person processing all these will ki siao.

I was enjoying my mancave! Just bought a new game before I kena positive. King of Fighters - XV !

2 days of isolation. Sunday and Monday! But amid all these, I had very bad sore throat on Sunday. Eat the medicine and drank alot water still very pain. There is still fever though.

Covid Positive Day 3 (Monday)

Loti

So Monday came and we send Loti to school as per the guidelines when her ART result is negative.

She still look quite active as per normal though.

Until…. My Wife picked her up in the evening. She looked quite tired, restless.

Maybe kena already, but she look so tired so we decided to test her tomorrow morning instead.

And get Mummy to bring her see doctor the next day morning.

This time round, I told my wife. I think need to open house already.

If not, how to isolate.

She rejected my proposal.

So now, she and Sushi got isolated instead as they can use the master room toilet while me and Loti will use the common toilet.

And we were lucky enough to have very helpful neighbour.

He send in some kids medication and ART test kit, because we haven’t collected ours.

At the same time, I also activate my brother to help us collect some test kits from the vending machine.

All supplies came in just in time.

Covid Positive Day 4 - Tuesday

As I was isolated at home, I am unable to bring the kids to visit the doctor. So Mummy brought them to a nearby clinic.

The doctor did an ART test for all of them, and also a PCR for Sushi as she was under 3 years old. And mentioned that PCR more zhun.

So result came out - 

• Loti Positive
• Wife Negative

Sushi Negative and her PCR results was negative after waiting for 2 days.

But because it is quite challenging to isolate Sushi in a room. And my wife gotta work. So I had to take care of Sushi.

And we were just wondering should we isolate Sushi or not.

Till…..

Covid Positive Day 5 -Wednesday

With the preparation that everyone will eventually get positive, I texted my mum to buy some groceries for me so that I can prepare Sushi and Loti’s meal. 

The adults can eat those grabfood stuffs, but it is hard to get kids meal.

My mum sent the supplies within 1 hour as she was staying near me.

Thursday - Positive + 6 Days

Loti

Loti fever started to subside and not much of fever liao.

She had symptoms the day before but the fever came only today. Highest was like 38.6.

Mummy

Mummy also have fatigue and felt feverish.

Sushi

As I see Sushi got abit of mucus, I quickly get the test kit ready and swab the mucus away.

Tio! Sushi is Covid positive liao. And we tested Mummy also.

Also positive.

With that, we have full house of covid positive cases. 5 at home. Not counting the dogs. Wonder if dogs tio how ah ?

Maybe can try to swab them izzit? Haha..

Covid Positive Day 7 - Friday

Friday came which is my 7th day. MOH say 12pm can pang kang already.

I very excited and tested myself. Eh, still positive leh.

Loti

The Dragon also back to normal with no fever already.

Slight cough still.

Sushi

She recovered the fastest. She had no fever but slight cough only.

Mummy

Probably the best employee award. Still working very hard while she is very sick. Maybe the company will TOH if she is sick for 1 day. 

Covid Day 8 - Saturday

I sibei excited, because the day before I was officially discharged.

But just want to play safe, so I test today. Aiseh! Clear liao.

But of course, I still have abit chesty cough. But I guess that is the post covid symptoms liao. A lot people say still have the cough.

Loti 

I tested Loti she is still positive though. But happily watching youtube as and when.

Sushi

She is likely positive - We never test lah. Don’t waste the $8 test kit right.

Mummy likely positive too. Lesser symptoms but because Saturday no need work. So maybe she felt better.

Conclusion

Overall it was not exactly a scare for us as we are mentally prepared to kena covid one of these days.

But more worried for the kids, that is why we bring them to the clinic to get medication.

We heard of stories of high grade fever, but we are glad the kids' fever was not that high.

And their fever subside in 2 days.

For myself and Sushi, we are having dry covid post covid.

It is more of lying down and there is some backflow that result in the cough.

Seen a doctor, gotten some medication.

But I guess it takes time on it.
