Every parent wants the best for their child, especially when it comes to education.
Let me share a bit about the journey of checking Primary 1 (P1) registration results.
I am also going through this, so I understand the mix of anticipation and a bit of anxiety. But with the right information, it becomes manageable.

Checking Results Online
On the day of the results announcement, you can check the registration results online. Simply go to the P1 Registration Portal from 8am onwards. This portal is a lifesaver. It allows you to get the results quickly and easily. No need to wait for a letter or make a phone call.
Notification via SMS
In addition to checking online, you will receive an SMS with the results. Make sure your contact details are correct and updated. You do not want to miss out on this notification. It is quick and keeps you informed.
The Balloting Process
Now, let us talk about the balloting process. For schools that have more applicants than places, balloting is required. The MOE conducts this balloting centrally and by computer. It is a fair and transparent process. While it can be nerve-wracking, knowing it is done fairly helps.
What if Registration is Unsuccessful?
Sometimes, things do not go as planned. If your child's registration is unsuccessful in Phases 2A, 2B, or 2C, you can register them in the next eligible phase. Here is what you need to do:
- Phase 2A, 2B, or 2C: If unsuccessful, register in the next phase.
- Phase 2C Supplementary: If unsuccessful here, your child will be assigned to a school with available vacancies.
After Securing a P1 Place
Once your child has secured a P1 place, there are a few more steps to follow:
- Submit Immunisation Records
- The school may request your child's immunisation records. Be prepared to email these records as soon as possible.
- Reporting Day Details
- The school will provide details about the reporting day. Mark this day on your calendar. It is a big day for your child.
- Student Care Centres
- Consider looking into school-based student care centres. They offer great support for your child during school hours. It is a good idea to find out more about them.
Final Thoughts
Going through the Primary 1 registration process can be a bit overwhelming, but with the right information and preparation, it becomes much easier.
Keep these tips in mind, stay organised, and you will navigate this journey smoothly.
