As the Wuhan corona virus goes into overdrive. Many countries in the world are facing shortages for surgical mask.
So happen that MedicalLex was advertising on facebook selling their mask online. So, being a concerned daddy, I have to click and find out more mah. They have like 2500+ comments , 1,000+ shares.
And they even have a queue page to go in. So, we started seeing a standard sales landing pages with all the testimonial.
Their website are well designed. All the sales writing and testimonial very professional.
Still got queue system to make you feel gian gian and very pro.
Flag points
So how do we know if is a scam anot.
Actually, we don't know. But these are the flagpoints.
Domain
I did a whois on the domain. It was just setup on 4th Feburary 2020. so only 5 days, they claim have 68,000+ happy customers.
5 days can make 68,000 customers so happy ah?
Testimonial
If you do a google search on the images of those in the testimonial, you will see that those photos are actually taken from other sites.
Plus, the Ang Mo need the mask more than the Asians meh? At least put asian testimonial what.
Reviews
There were 759 reviews on site. For a e-commerce site to receive 759 average 4.5 stars review is super power liao. Considering their delivery duration is like 1-2 weeks.Â
Wait 2-3 days already kpkb liao. Still give 5 stars for 1-2 weeks delivery ah.
PS: the write review button don't work also.
Similar to the google search on the images, you are able to find those images taken from other websites.
Address
Their address is a PO box in US from boxnmail.com. If legit big manufacturer of 68,000+ customers still use PO box meh.
Facebook Ads
Their facebook ads are targeted at mainly the affected countries. Like, Singapore, China, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia etc. And they were set up in on 6 February. A total of 12 ads running aggressively.
So warn your friends in case they get scammed.
Ps: there is also another coronamask.co scam setup as well. Using the same tactics.
