Review: Port Dickson, Lexis Hibiscus – Why you should go at least once

By Money Saving Daddy

We were planning a post-natal trip and Port Dickson came up in our options. And we decided on Lexis Hibiscus as well because it looks more modern than Grand Lexis.

We spend 4 days at Port Dickson Lexis Hibiscus and we cannot wait for the next trip back to Lexis Hibiscus again.

For those whom are planning a babymoon trip or a post-natal trip with the little one you can consider after reading my review.

Daddies, book this surprise trip for your mummy.

Introduction:

Lobby

Port Dickson Lexis Hibiscus is a resort located at Port Dickson. They are owned by Lexis Group which also includes Grand Lexis in Port Dickson.

Lexis Hibiscus holds the Guinness world record of the most number of swimming pools in a resort.

Lexis Hibiscus consists of 639 pool villas comprising tower rooms and water villas.

Each villa has its own private dip pool and steam room for luxury and privacy.

Our Booking:

Booking.com

We booked the cheapest villa, which cost S$200+ a night. It has 2 King Beds, comes with a shower and a toilet. But no bathtub.

The changing area is super spacious, and there is even an area we setup as a diaper changing area.

Breakfast included.

Popular Facilities:

  • Swimming pool
  • Outdoor pool
  • Free parking
  • Family rooms
  • Indoor pool
  • Free WiFi
  • Good for couples - they rate the facilities 8.5 for two-person stays.

This Airpot I own self bring one.

RM 40 Dinner

DIY Diaper Changing Station

Sun Rise

1.2m Pool

Things we like:

Buggy Service

Because of their design of a hibiscus, the furthest villa is 1.2km away which is the president suite. Thus they provide free buggy service to bring the guest to your doorstep. Calling buggy service from your room will take 10-15 mins depending on which area your villa is.

There was once it came in 5 mins, and we had to request the person to wait for us.

Service:

We requested for a lot of things during our stay and all came promptly.

Travel Adapter - Because we had a Bubee sterilizer which uses a China Power Plug

Ice Bucket - We requested 3 times because we had soft drinks in the villa. And it is more shiok to drink with ice right?

Towels - We didn’t request for makeup room because the room was in a mess anyway. So we requested for more towels only.

Room Service - We ordered a dinner on the 1st dinner. Value for money at RM40, comes with 6x Chicken pieces, Fries and a bottle of coke. We could not finish the fries (Was replaced by wedges).

Daily snacks/drinks top up

Daily, they will top up 4 cans of drinks and some titbits. A very warm gesture in my opinion. That also explains why we are getting ice buckets every night.

Check-in

Seamless checking in and out. Once we parked our car at the porch, the porter will automatically push the trolley and assist to load up the luggage and items. And even up to the buggy.

Check Out

There was no delays or queues when we checked out. Perhaps it was during a weekday and it was their off-peak.

Private Pool:

The main highlight for the trip is the private pool. Each pool in the resort is 2.5m x 3.5m. It is more of a dip and soaking pool than an Olympic swimming sized pool.

What you enjoy most is the privacy. But that depends on the villa that you are allocated.

Sauna

There is also a personal sauna room in the villa itself. So after your soak, you can have a steam bath in the sauna. Thumbs up for this facility.

Sea View Request

We requested for a sea view villa and was granted. Although the distance to the villa is right till the end.

And we were blessed by a sunrise view too. How awesome right?

Facilities

There were numerous facilities in Lexis Hibiscus, but we didn’t have a chance to take a look. Because we were busy nua-ing in the villa for 2 full days. And another 2 days was check in/out.

Hibiscus Walk

We did not have a chance to walk this area. Apparently it seems like pasar malam area with some eateries. If you are bored after dinner, you can take a short walk here.

Things That can be improved:

Ants:

There were ants in the villa. We didn’t want to change the villa because of the sea view. Hence, we suck thumb and drown the ants whenever we see them.

Not a lot, probably 1 or 2 on 4 occasions.

Breakfast

Breakfast Area

Breakfast Area

Nasi Lemak

I was expecting a more yummy breakfast as the presentation look superb. There were indeed a lot of varieties. However, the taste is just boring that I stick to eating nasi lemak for 3 days.

Hashbrown is usually our favourite but we skipped the hashbrown after the first try. So cold and not crispy at all.

The Egg station was also disappointing. Maybe they did not add enough salt.

Bathtub

I was expecting a bathtub, but if you upgrade a bit more you will get a bathtub. But since we have a dip pool, you can soak until you song.

Location

Nothing to improve, but if you want to go walk around in their Orchard Road, you need to drive 30mins there. If not, you can take their shuttle bus service. And if you really are taking their shuttle bus service, you should not be booking this resort.

You book this resort, still wanna take bus to elsewhere. You Okay bo?

Check in time

4pm. Where got hotel check in 4pm one? It is very late leh! What if those take coach from Singapore reach before 2pm how?

Anyway, we reach at 7pm. So no delays for us. If you are early, you may want to request for an early check in if that is possible.

Things to Note

Buggy Service

When you are checking out, do call the buggy in advance to avoid super delays. Imagine they need to travel from the main station to where you stay.

It probably takes 5-10mins for the buggy to travel and also during peak hours the buggy overwhelming with guests checking out.

Shuttle Service

If you are really feeling bored staying indoors, you can take their shuttle service to the nearby Regina mall or army museum. Check with the concierge for more information.

Best time to Visit

The best time to visit Lexis Hibiscus is all the months except for November - January. This is the super peak period when families from Singapore will come to the resort.

Apart from the crowd, you will be experiencing the monsoon season, which comes with the afternoon thunderstorm. That also explains why half the time we were indoors.

Suitable For

If you are looking for some indoors staycation, this will be a good choice.

  • Romantic Staycation
  • Babymoon
  • Post Natal Moon
  • Mini Honeymoon
  • Family Moon

Lexis Hibiscus is definitely suitable for a luxurious staycation. If you are bored of the staycations in Singapore, you can drive down to Lexis Hibiscus.

Half the price, double the feeling. Something similar in Singapore will cost more than $400.

Other Dining Options

If you do not want to eat in at Lexis Hibiscus like us, you may want to check out surrounding eateries options. Prices are affordable and delicious.
