A Day @ Habitat by HonestBee – My Honest Review

By Money Saving Daddy

Usually weekend we will find someplace to hang out with our little one. So mummy’s requirement is must have aircon, my requirement is cheap. Most of the time, we will go Changi Airport one.

But this time since we are having Brunch at Katong area, then we were thinking where to go next.

So after our brunch at Group Therapy Cafe.

We head for Habitat by Honestbee.  So we drive from the East to Alexandra, using GPS.

Habitat by Honestbee

If you swaku like me, never go this Habitat by Honestbee in Singapore; You should at least visit them once lah. So you more trendy a bit. This is like telling people you got visit the Universal Studio in Singapore.

At first, I thought Habitat is at some atas building. Who knows drive till an industrial area. Then see the surrounding quite industrial leh.

Don’t have the futuristic feel leh.

But we see the HonestBee logo big big, confirm is the place already.

Parking Rates @ Habitat

Habitat by Honestbee Parking Charges

When we go in, we didn't really look at the parking charges. It is only when we come out, and realise it is free parking for 3 hours on weekend!

Wah seh, not bad leh. Can go chill and nua, first 3 hours free.

Parking @ Habitat

The parking at Habitat Honestbee very limited and challenging in the compound.

You have the park carhead in one. But Singaporeans prefer to park backside in. So most of the head in space, become backside in.

Then you have the parallel parking one. Which is on the slope.

This one for Singaporeans park parallel already very challenging. Now still have to park on the slope. Then you have sheltered lots, but red color one. Means public park maybe will kena wheel clamp.

Come in, find parking space like playing Angry Bird, got 1 star difficulty, 2 star difficulty one.

Just imagine the first weekends of their opening. I think more headache lor.

So we managed to park our car, at the slope parallel parking one okay.

The walk towards the entrance not sheltered one. If raining how sia? No doubt the exterior look quite run down and industrial, the entrance looks more techy.

Free Shuttle Bus to Habitat By HonestBee

If you are taking public transport, you can hop on to their Shuttle Bus that go Labrador Park MRT and Redhill MRT.

Their shuttle bus very big and yellow, from far you can see one.

The Entrance

There is an ambassador teaching the public how to experience the facilities inside.

But most importantly, you need to download their app and use the beepass to enter.

So this Beepass Hor, you can scan for your friends going in. So long 1 person have can liao. But if you want pay on a separate account then you need to use your own device lah.

So the pathway inside is like a museum or exhibition, showcase some concept in Habitat by Honestbee.

The first part is the florist. Sell flower one.

Apparently, they collaborate with Far East Flora.

Actually quite beautiful leh. It is like when you take aeroplane arrive Changi airport where the taxi take you on the expressway. A lot of greens and beautiful flowers.

Then we walked further in, a bit stunned. This place look more than Marche than a supermarket lor.

Like Marche and add on with supermarket shelving.

Supermarket

The sections are divided and scattered around the entire floor.

You have the fresh produce the entrance, the meat and seafood in the middle.

The frozen stuffs at the corner.

There is also a trolley check out counter. But this one you need to buy over 10 items then can go play with it. We didn't have a chance to try because we only bought 1 item.

F&B

This is the key highlight here. There are 15 F&B stores in this Habitat itself. It is worth a try on their food. I got see someone eating Fish & Chip. Like very good. Maybe the next time can the Fish & Chip and give my review.

These are the stores that are in Habitat.

Eat Oyster

Mummy very gian eat oyster because they serve oyster freshly shucked! So there are 2 pricing for the fresh oysters.

$11 for 6

The oysters are bigger and said to be saltier.

Actually, it tastes really fresh. Got the sea salty taste when you gulp it down. So yummy that we bought another 1 set of $11 and another set of $9.

$13 for 6 (Members $9)

Abit smaller but taste quite similar la.

They also provide lemon and Tabasco sauce.

$1.50 for 1 oyster this one really worth it leh.

The Seating

Credit: Honestbee

It is very spacious in Habitat. There is a lounge-like sofa seats at the sides, which we didn’t manage to secure. Very good to chill there, because parking is free for 3 hours at weekend mah.

This is like nua-ing at ikea, with sofa, aircon and coffee. If don’t wanna buy the expensive coffee, can just buy the snacks and beverage off the shelf.

The idea is like a super big 7-11.

The Toilet

The toilet situated at some small pathway leading to some merchandise sold there. I thought is it is pretty cool to put these together with the toilet. And it is just outside the toilets. At least not those kopitiam or shopping malls toilets pattern.

Maybe these shopping malls can explore such ideas because toilets walkway have one of the most foot traffic mah.

Honestbee Habitat Membership

The thing about this membership is some items you can get member rates, ranging from 10 cents to a few dollars (they say up to 15%).

It is $28.90 a year, less than $2.50 a month. So if you eat the oyster monthly, you cover back already.

Of course, there are some groceries that you can buy as well.

But this membership doesn’t give a discount on the F&B. I thought at least got 50cents off, I go buy a cup of cappuccino also happy la.

So you can calculate if it is worthwhile to get this membership.

Our Habitat by HonestBee Review

We ended our day at Habitat by HonestBee, Singapore first technology supermarket. New concept, not bad. It is like go a new food court where the supermarket is housed together.

I will come for the F&B and oyster, but for groceries wise; I still shop at Sheng Siong, NTUC or Amazon Prime.

And since we bought the membership, so we will hang out a little more often at Habitat. And that is the idea right?

Till then!
