We recently went on a family trip to Seoul after 6 Days Itinerary in Jeju with Kids and visiting Busan. Myeong-dong is one of Seoul’s liveliest areas, known for its vibrant shopping streets and delicious street food. Picking the right hotel can make your trip even better.
We chose Stanford Hotel Myeong-dong.
Now I see why it is a popular pick. Here is everything you need to know about staying there with your family.
Central Location at Stanford Hotel
Stanford Hotel is smack in the middle of Myeong-dong.
This place offers great quality at reasonable prices.
You are close to all the action and can easily explore the city.
The Euljiro 1(il)-ga metro station is just 200 meters away, about a 3-minute walk.
The airport bus stops right at the hotel’s doorstep, ensuring you get a seat since it is the first station.
Taking a cab?
If you come from the opposite direction, they need to make a U-turn to drop you off.
A small inconvenience for a lot of overall convenience.
Comfortable and Family-Friendly Rooms
The rooms at Stanford Hotel are clean and inviting.
With two toddlers, we found the space perfect.
The comfy beds ensured good sleep for everyone.
The room had Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV, which kept everyone entertained.
The best part?
The bathtub.
Our toddlers loved it, making bath time fun and stress-free.
Dining Options Around & Hotel’s Dining Experience
We did not opt for the hotel’s breakfast buffet, but we did not miss out on great food.
The streets of Myeong-dong have tons of food options.
We fell in love with Isaac Toast and ate there for three days straight.
Seriously, you have to try it.
There are so many dining choices nearby.
Whether your kids are picky eaters or adventurous, you will find something they like.
Access to Major Seoul Attractions
Staying in Myeong-dong just makes sense.
From the hotel, you can easily visit places like Gyeongbokgung Palace, Lotte World, and the Seoul Children’s Museum.
We spent about five days exploring Seoul and loved every minute.
Getting to these attractions was a breeze.
Gyeongbokgung Palace is just four stops away on Line 3, about a 15-minute ride.
Lotte World is a bit longer, around a 40-minute trip on Lines 2 and 8.
The Seoul Children’s Museum is about 45 minutes away, easily accessible via Lines 2 and 7.
If you are planning to visit Busan as well, do not miss the 2 Days Itinerary in Busan with Kids. It is packed with family-friendly activities.
The hotel’s location also puts you close to endless shops and eateries.
You can step out and find something new around every corner.
Practical Tips for Families
Book in advance to get the best rates at Stanford Hotel.
Multiple subway lines are nearby, making travel simple.
For those flying in, the airport limousine bus stops right at the hotel’s doorstep.
You are guaranteed a seat since it is the first station.
Stress-free travel from the airport—how great is that?
Stanford Hotel is fantastic for families with kids.
We loved the room setups with 2x queen beds.
The bathtub was another highlight, making evenings more enjoyable for our kids.
One small downside is the hotel lobby is on the 9th floor.
You need to take a lift up to the lobby and then another to your room.
Just a heads-up if you have little ones.
Shopping and Additional Dining
Myeong-dong is a shopper’s dream.
There are endless shops and street vendors. You can find anything from the latest fashion to unique souvenirs. The nearby Lotte Department Store is great for luxury shopping.
The food options around Stanford Hotel are fantastic.
From tasty street food to nice restaurants, you will find something for everyone. We especially loved Isaac Toast, and it was so good we ate there for three days straight.
