2026 school holiday schedule
Week 1: 31 May – 6 Jun
Settle in. One or two activities, then home. Recharge before the long haul.
Universal Studios Singapore (Early Week)
Crowds are lower in the first half of holiday week 1. Hit the popular rides (Transformers, Battlestar Galactica) before the queues build. Buy tickets online in advance for $5–$10 off.
Library Storytime Reset
Most libraries run holiday programmes starting week 1. Free, air-conditioned, easy to drop in. Library@Orchard, Library@HarbourFront, and Woodlands have the strongest kids' programmes.
Public Pool Day
ActiveSG pools are $1.50 per entry for kids. Pasir Ris, Jurong East, and Tampines have kids' pools with slides. Best on weekday mornings before the day-trippers arrive.
Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park Playground
The biggest free playground in central Singapore. Three separate play areas for different ages, river running through, shaded. Easy MRT access.
Week 2: 7 – 13 Jun
Try a new activity. Camp, class, or day trip the kids have not done before.
3-Day Holiday Camp
Multi-day camps at the Science Centre, ACM, or various sports clubs. Most run Mon–Wed of week 2 and Mon–Wed of week 3. $200–$500 per child. Book early — June camps sell out by April.
Singapore Zoo (Off-Peak Day)
Visit on a weekday if you can. The Rainforest Kidzworld opens at 9 AM with a small water play area, animal feedings, and a carousel. Free for kids under 3.
Children's Biennale at National Gallery
The Gallery runs a kids-focused Biennale every year with interactive installations. Free for SG/PR. Weekday afternoons are quietest.
Splash Pad Hunt
Free splash pads across HDB estates. Bishan, Toa Payoh, Punggol, and Woodlands have the best. Combine with a hawker centre lunch for under $15 total.
Week 3: 14 – 20 Jun
Trip day. Pick one bigger outing. Recover on the days around it.
Pulau Ubin Day Trip
$4 bumboat from Changi Point. Rent bikes, hit Chek Jawa boardwalk, eat at the hawker stalls, swim at the quarry. Feels like a different country. Whole day, $20 per person including transport and lunch.
Gardens by the Bay Light Show
Supertree Grove light show at 7:45 PM and 8:45 PM, every night, free. Pair with dinner at Satay by the Bay for the full experience. Best on a weekday to skip the crowds.
Sentosa Boardwalk + Beach
Walk across the boardwalk from HarbourFront (free) and hit Tanjong or Siloso Beach. Skip the paid attractions if you want a free day. Bring your own snacks.
Coastal PlayGrove (East Coast)
A newer HDB playground with a 4-storey tall netted play area. Free. Combine with dinner at East Coast hawker centre (still one of the best in Singapore).
Week 4: 21 – 28 Jun
Wind down. Two or three low-key activities, then prep for Term 3.
Library Reading Sprint
Many libraries run end-of-holiday reading challenges. Borrow 5 books, get a sticker. Cheap way to keep them reading over the break.
Back-to-School Prep Walk
Hit the school supplies shops in late June (BHG, Popular, or the Heartland Mall stationers). Sales on uniform and stationery start around 25 June for Term 3.
Sunset at Marina Barrage
End the holidays with a chill sunset. Free parking for the first hour, kite-flying, and a hawker centre two minutes away. Cheap, easy, restorative.
Kids' Film at The Projector
The Projector at Golden Mile runs a kids' matinee on the last weekend of holidays. Tickets are $12, often with a themed activity before the screening.
