15 km of coastline, dedicated cycling paths, BBQ pits, playgrounds, and a beach. Free parking on weekdays. Bring a bike or rent one at the park.
NatureSingapore Botanic Gardens
UNESCO site with free entry. National Orchid Garden has a small fee, but the main gardens, lake, and kids' playgrounds are zero cost. Free concerts on weekends.
NatureChangi Jurassic Mile
1 km of life-size dinosaur statues in a tropical setting. Kids go nuts. Free, outdoor, and right next to Changi Airport. Combine with a plane-spotting session.
NatureMacRitchie Reservoir Treetop Walk
250 m suspended bridge through the canopy. Free, but book a slot online (they open weekly). Combine with a 11 km hike for adventurous families.

BeachesEast Coast Beach
The classic. Sand, swimming, seafood at the hawker centre across the road. Best in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat.

Quieter than East Coast. Big playground, mangrove boardwalk, BBQ pits, and a proper beach. Family favourite for a half-day chill.

Local beach with a low-key vibe. Great for picnics, beachcombing, and watching the cargo ships go by. Free parking, free entry, no crowds.

Untouched, off-the-beaten-path beach. Free entry (open Wed-Sun). Cycling, beachcombing, no facilities — bring everything. Worth the trek.
UrbanGardens by the Bay (Outdoor)
The outdoor gardens are free. Supertree Grove light show every night at 7:45 PM and 8:45 PM. Conservatories and Skyway are paid. The outdoor is plenty for a full evening.
UrbanMarina Barrage
Green roof with city skyline views. Kite-flying heaven (the wind is consistent), big open grass for picnics. Free parking for the first hour.
UrbanHawker Centre Tour
Not a single destination — pick 3 hawker centres in a day. Kids love the bustle, the colours, the food. Try Newton, Lau Pa Sat, Old Airport Road, or Tiong Bahru.
UrbanChangi Airport (yes really)
The Jewel Rain Vortex, the Skytrain, the sunflower garden, the cactus garden, the butterfly garden. Free to walk around. A 4-hour rainy-day activity for under $10 (MRT in).
UrbanHenderson Waves Bridge
Tallest pedestrian bridge in Singapore. Free, no tickets, just walk. Connects Mount Faber and Telok Blangah Hill. Best at sunset for the city view.
IndoorPublic Libraries
Every neighbourhood has one. Free kids' storytime sessions, holiday programmes, makerspaces, and air conditioning. Library@Orchard and Library@HarbourFront are standouts.
IndoorNational Gallery (Selected Hours)
Free entry for Singaporeans and PRs to most galleries. Kids' programmes on weekends. The building itself (former City Hall and Supreme Court) is a sight.
IndoorArtScience Museum Free Zones
The ground-floor lobby and Future World exhibition have free elements on certain days. Combined with the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark view from outside, it's a half-day free outing.
